Day 9 - Phuket - Diving and Girls day

Today Larry went diving. Another long day of driving - 2.5 hours there and 2.5 back. Another note to self, remember to ask how far away excursions are when booking a trip. When he got there his cold prevented him from doing down very deep. And he couldn't do the 2nd dive at all. Bummer.

The girls and I had a very nice day of shopping and lunch. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and shopped in the Patong Beach area. When we came back to our room and hung out at the pool.

Larry had a few conference calls for work that night so the girls and I bought dinner back to him. We watched a movie and in bed while he worked for a while.

Thailand Day 8 - Phuket - Amazing Canoeing

Our day didn't start out all that amazing... unfortunately. The van picked us up at 8:20 (which was a later start than normal so that part was great). We drove about 90 minutes to get to our port then waited over an hour to leave on the boat. Not sure what the deal was... island time I suppose. We rode in a big speed boat with about 20 or so people to 5 different islands - Panak Island, James Bond Island (the little one sticking up out of the sea), Khao Ping Island, Hong Island (where we did the canoeing), Panyee Island (to eat lunch served by local sea gypsies), and Naka Island for swimming and hanging out.

Day 7 - Phuket City tour and Safari

Strange to spend Christmas day alone without family and friends, but we made it fun anyway. Today we toured many places in Phuket as well as went a safari (sorta anyway).

This is the "head" of the island. The Chinese called this dragon island and are standing at the point that is the head of the dragon.

Elephant temple. Please have left hundreds of elephants there. In a Buddhist temple you make a wish, if that wish comes true you have to come back and do what you promised. In this case, it's likely to bring back and elephant. Next to it is a tree full of bells. This is located at the Big Budha.
