Jordan Day 1

We arrived in Jordan today. It was very simple to get our visas at the airport. Our driver’s name is Moonthere. He is quiet and his English isn’t that great, but he seems nice. Because of the fighting in Gaza we can’t go on the Amman city tour today. Jordan is the home of many Palestinians.

After dropping off our things at the Le Meridien hotel, Moonthere took us to a KFC (for the girls) for lunch. Unfortunately it was closed but we found a small mall with a food court. No smoking was posted in the food court but there were men all over the place smoking up a storm. After lunch we walked back to the hotel. All of the sidewalks are paved with yellow and red cement tiles and are lined with olive trees.

Since we had a lot of time to kill we decided to take in some spa treatments at the hotel. I treated myself to a salt scrub, mud pack and massage. Larry got a massage. It was very relaxing and great for my skin. The girls hung out at the hotel kids club for a while. They got their faced painted, tattoos, animal balloons and more. It was a fun day for all!

Here is a map of Jordan that shows the major places that we are planning to visit.
