Spring Break in Italy - Day 6&7, Florence

Florence - The whole reason for the trip! We purchased tickets ahead of time online (which I highly recommend) for the Ufizzi gallery that houses the Birth of Venus. We went to Florence to see this painting since I did a version of my own. It was wondering to see the real thing along with several other works by Botticelli.

Our hotel was pretty cool. It was a bed and breakfast (as were most of the places that we stayed). We had 4 keys to get in. One for the giant door at the street, one for the gate inside the door, one for the door into the B&B and one for our room. The ceiling of our room was painted with a fresco. The ceilings were VERY high.

The Duomo. The girl lite candles.

The oldest bridge in Florence. It still has shops on it like the old bridges used to have.

David, but not the real one, this is a copy. We did get to see the real one in the Academia Gallery.

The girls posing as statues in a niche in the wall in our B&B.
